In order to jump-start development on a new generation of AMR-enabled geodynamics codes, CIG's Science Steering Committee hosted a tutorial workshop on Oct 24-27 in Boulder, CO, devoted to the technical aspects of AMR method.
Limited reimbursement for travel and lodging is available.

The workshop began on October 24th, Wednesday, at 8:30 a.m., and concluded on the 27th, Saturday, about 12 noon.
The Workshop was held in the "Reading Room," which is located on the 11th Floor of Gamow Tower, in the Duane Physics building, right across from the football stadium. Duane Physics/Gamow Tower are numbers 19/33 on the map:

CIG provides some limited reimbursement for the workshop, depending on where you travel from, to help cover travel, hotel, and other expenses. There will be no registration fee, and the workshop will provide some light breakfast and snacks. You must make your own travel arrangement and hotel reservation. Keep all the receipts in order to be reimbursed after the workshop.
A block reservation with single and double rooms has been obtained at the Millennium Harvest House, Boulder for 4 nights, 10/23/07-10/26/07. Room sharing is encouraged. Reservations must be made by Sunday, September 23, 2007. Any reservations made after this date will still receive the group rate, but will be subject to availability. Check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out is by 12 noon on Saturday.
